| 3’ x 5’ raised bed: One of the simplest ways to reduce your environmental impact and begin to live more sustainably is by growing some of your own food. Our raised bed can produce lettuce, spinach and radishes in Spring. As each plant is harvested, other food crops – such as peppers, tomatoes, carrots and basil – can be planted in its place.
Constructed of locally harvested and milled white oak. Component price: $75.00 Compact cedar compost bin: Every house creates organic waste (fruit peels, veggie scraps, paper towels, coffee grounds, etc.) that can be easily turned into an organic fertilizer over a period of several months. Your completed compost will add important nutrients to plants and will recondition your soil. Component price: $90.00 55 gallon rain barrel: Every garden needs water, and our homes are perfectly designed to collect rainwater by placing a barrel under a downspout. This water is ideal for plants: it is not chlorinated and it is naturally soft. Our rain barrels include a hose bibb spigot at the bottom and a cedar weir with removable screen on top to filter out roof debris and divert excess rain water away from the house. Component price: $60.00 A second barrel can be connected for an additional $30. The importance of the Earth Victory Garden (EVG) is its interconnectedness. Each component feeds another, and the end sum is greater than the parts. It embodies the concepts of systems thinking! That is why we encourage you to purchase the entire EVG for $200.00, a saving of $25.00 over components purchased separately.
